Welcome to the team, Niamh!

We are pleased to announce that Dr Niamh Fahy, lecturer in Biological Sciences at the Department of Applied Science at TUS Midwest, has joined the Bioengineering Organ-on-a-Chip Research Group at the Centre for Applied Bioscience Research (CABR) as a Principal Investigator. 

Dr Niamh Fahy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from University College Cork and a Master of Science in Regenerative Medicine from the University of Galway. Niamh obtained her PhD in Regenerative Medicine from the University of Galway. 

Niamh conducted postdoctoral research at the AO Research Institute, Davos, Switzerland. Furthermore, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher with the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine and the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. 

Her research interests include investigating novel technologies to modulate inflammation and destructive cellular processes to promote musculoskeletal tissue repair. Niamh’s research interests and experience align with UN SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being.
