Welcome to the team, Hande!

We are pleased to announce that Dr Hande Ermiş has joined the Centre for Applied Bioscience Research (CABR) as a Senior Business Development Scientist.

Dr. Ermiş is a bioengineer and environmental engineer with strong expertise in microalgae biotechnology, wastewater treatment, and bio-based sustainability solutions. She holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering and has led both academic and industry-focused research projects in microalgae cultivation, bioprocess development, and environmental remediation.

Prior to joining CABR, she held a Government of Ireland Postdoctoral Fellowship funded by the Irish Research Council, focusing on the genetic engineering of cyanobacteria for microplastic degradation.

At CABR, Dr. Ermiş contributes to the development of collaborative research initiatives, supporting innovation in bio-based technologies, sustainable wastewater treatment, and circular bioeconomy applications.
