Welcome to the team, Chatan!
We are excited to announce that Mr Chatan Rai Surana has joined the Centre for Applied Bioscience Research (CABR) as a Research Assistant, where he contributes to industry-collaborative research projects focused on bio-based innovation.
Chatan Rai Surana recently defended his PhD thesis, “Biotransformation of Underutilised Dairy Waste Residues to Novel Food Additives and Renewable Products,” from the Teagasc Food Research Centre, Moorepark and Munster Technological University (MTU), Cork
Chatan’s doctoral research focused on advancing food sustainability and the circular bioeconomy through the valorisation of dairy waste streams and by-products into renewable, value-added products, including exopolysaccharides (EPS), polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) bioplastics, and microalgal biomass.
