We are pleased to announce that Faisal Rehman has joined CABR to pursue his PhD research under the supervision of Dr Niall Burke (Primary Supervisor), Dr Derek Whelan (Secondary Supervisor) and Dr Tim Yeomans (Project Advisor).
His current research focuses on the development of a biomimetic 3D in vitro vein model for the preclinical testing and evaluation of medical devices and therapeutics. Through this research, he aims to develop physiologically relevant, human-based models that can support translational research and improve the preclinical assessment of novel treatments and medical technologies.
His research interests span cancer biology, three-dimensional (3D) organoid culture, tissue engineering and the development of advanced in vitro disease models.
