Welcome to the team, Rosana!
We are pleased to announce that Rosana De Assis Borges has joined the Bioengineering Organ-on-a-Chip Research Group at the Centre for Applied Bioscience Research (CABR) as a master’s by research student.
Rosana holds a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences from Centro Universitário UDF, Brazil, with experience as a teaching assistant in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology and clinical laboratory training.
Under the lead supervision of Dr Emma J. Murphy, co-supervised by Dr Gustavo Fehrenbach, Dr Tielidy Lima and Dr Declan Devine, she is focusing on how mechanical conditions such as ventilation can potentially affect the surfactant in alveolar cells to understand if this can be modelled using lung-on-a-chip for acute respiratory distress syndrome research.
