5800 ICP-OES Spectrometer

What is the Agilent 5800 ICP-OES?

The Agilent 5800 ICP-OES at CABR supports R&D and industry collaborations through the analysis of major and trace elements in food, agricultural raw materials and process water, as well as environmental samples such as soil and wastewater.

ICP-OES can measure multiple elements across a wide concentration range, making it useful for mineral-rich and complex samples following appropriate preparation. The Agilent 5800 combines advanced software with built-in sensors and diagnostics to support reliable results and efficient analysis.

This technology is applicable across environmental, food and nutraceutical sectors.

How can this equipment benefit your business?

  • Mineral and nutrient profiling in food, feed, and beverages, including Ca, Mg, Na, K, Fe, Zn, Cu, P and S.

  • Screening for elemental contaminants in food, water, wastewater and soil, where the required detection limits can be achieved.

  • Elemental quality control of nutraceuticals and raw materials.

  • Macro- and micronutrient profiling in soil, crops, and plant tissues, including P, K, Ca, Mg, S, Fe, Zn and B.

  • Elemental composition and impurity analysis of cosmetics and skincare products.

  • Supporting product development, process optimisation and resource recovery.

The achievable detection and quantification limits depend on the element, sample matrix and preparation method. Very low contaminant limits may require a more sensitive technique such as ICP-MS, which is also available at CABR for R&D and industry collaborations.
